well, just in case you haven’t heard the good news, the beavs is here to report that the most amazing band in stumpville has teamed up with the most amazing radio station on the planet.  that’s right: super fresh oregon symphony concerts are now on all classical fm!  not one, not two, not three, but four (four!) concerts are being masterfully recorded (in their entirety!) and portland’s very own 89.9 is sending them out over their air waves.  and because jack allen and the gang are so thoughtful, they’re sharing them online for an additional couple of weeks after the broadcast – just in case you missed ‘em.  the very first concert is only available for a few more days… a february program that begins with a performance of symphony no. 5 by ralph vaughan williams.  why listen?

(1) um, it kicks major butt.  seriously.  (2) yo, it features sarah kwak who went on to be named the band’s new concertmaster.  (3) well, this very recording of rvw #5 will be on the band’s next stellar album.  (4) hey, the show is hosted by john pitman and coach kalmar ~ nice!

but don’t take my word for it… listen for yourself.  click *on demand and the show’s at the bottom!
