filling jun’s shoes (take 4)

well josh bell ain’t the only violinist p-town is hosting this weekend.  you guessed it: another concertmaster try-out!  jeremy mastrangelo, a thirty-something fiddler from the empire state, held the cm post with the syracuse symphony orchestra until last april when [i hope you’re sitting down] the band tragically declared chapter 7 bankruptcy and totally liquidated during its 50th anniversary season.  [i know, i know – that is fucked up, right?  can you even imagine?!]  no worries though… this guy’s got a resume a mile long, including a gig serving as co-concertmaster of the new world symphony orchestra in miami.  like jun (and 2 outta 3 previous auditioning cm’s) he studied with william preucil at the legendary cleveland institute of music.  woot,  woot, c-town!  jeremy’s wife sara is a professional symphonic violinist as well, and his older brother david is principal 2nd violin with an orchestra in naples (florida).  i can’t even imagine having a family like this, playing concertos instead of cards.  well mr. mastrangelo, the beavs wishes you the best of luck up there ~ break a bow!
