what’s on tap?

this saturday, sunday, and monday, the oregon symphony kicks off their phenomenal 2011/12 classical season with a round of white russians for everyone: an overture by mikhail glinka, a violin showstopper by sergei prokofiev, and the second symphony penned by mr. rachmaninoff.

why go?  throughout the summer, this rodent kept getting asked the same question by peeps who have never been to the symphony before: which concert should i go to?  well, they’re all gonna be  winners [duh], but this show is actually my #1 choice: carlos on the podium?  check.  a rousing opening number?  check.  a female fiddling rockstar guest?  check.  a gorgeous symphonic masterpiece that lets the fully-loaded band pull out all the stops for a heart-pounding finale?  check.  it doesn’t really get any better than this.  seriously.

go.  go.  go.  check out deets and grab your tix by clicking on this sentence.  see you there (for reals, if you’re going monday)!
