what’s on tap?

this saturday and monday, the oregon symphony plays a Beethoven march, some russian ballet music based on a frenchman’s spanish opera, a 21st-century percussion concerto, and a cuban overture by none other than george gershwin.

why go?  c’mon – colin currie is going to jam like no other soloist this season, mark my words.  and for all you with adhd out there, this is your concert… four pieces of music, and none of ‘em are more than 25 minutes long.  and oh yeah: first work by Beethoven this season (finally)!

snatch up your frackin’ tickets asap.

Actually, the Carmen is Bizet’s music, just arranged to different forces, and with no singers. The Russian dude just did the arrangement. Still great music, tho!
