well, here we are celebrating the eighth and final day of the first annual international stephen hough appreciation week (octave). one last time, we slip on our “wwshd?” bracelets, and with a solemn flick of my bic, we light the white candle which honors the man as birthday boy. that’s right, not only is today the feast day of st. cecilia (patron saint of music – ora pro nobis), it is appropriately enough, the 49th birthday of stephen andrew gill hough. we here at the classical beaver home office wanted to do something special, so we lobbied hard at city hall for a birthday parade; randy leonard said no (too much duct tape involved). as a pretty sweet consolation prize though, we scored an official letter of welcome from mayor sam (for reals). shout out to alacia and grace for helping make this happen. happy birthday stephen!
